Michael LaFemina E-RYT® 200
Friday September 20th - Sunday September 22nd, 2019
Schedule (18 hours)
Friday: 6p-8:30pm, Saturday: 9a-5p, Sunday: 8a-4p
What will be covered?
This 18-hour Meditation Teachers Certificate Course is designed to provide foundational skills for those who wish to guide students on the path of self cultivation through the practice of meditation.
We will focus on three pillars of meditation teaching: understanding of the meditation theory and concepts, personal practice and experience, and teaching methodology.
You will leave with a deeper sense of understanding of the mind, how meditation helps people experience more peace in their lives, and a curriculum to teach meditation courses of your own.
This course will share teaching materials, methodology, and best practices so that participants will be ready to design a meditation course of their own upon completion. We will discuss how to ‘meet students where they’re at’ and help make learning relatable for all ages, backgrounds, and even religious faiths.
We will survey the eight limbs of Raja Yoga, basics of Karma, Bhakti, and Jnana Yoga, and identify places and resources for deeper study into texts and teachings. We will introduce the concept of Mindfulness from a Buddhist perspective and basics of Ayurveda and Chinese Medicine, to help provide transformational vocabulary and concepts.
Safe space: We will discuss what it means to hold space, hold safe space, and ethics of inviting transformational experiences.
