A MESSAGE FROM OUR FOUNDER
The Studio Is Closing, But Our Community Lives On
Stone Wave was founded in 2017 by Liz Glover Wilson and Keith Buesing, who lovingly renovated and cared for this space. We are deeply grateful for their vision in creating both the beautiful landscape and the warm, inviting interior that so many have come to cherish.
Since 2020, Liz has continued as the sole steward of the land, carrying forward that vision with dedication and heart. We will miss this space dearly and remain forever grateful for all the love, creativity, and artistry that have been poured into it.
Today, June 3, 2026 we celebrate 9 years of community and shared practices at Stone Wave. Nearly a decade of connection!

A Very Important Message from Liz Glover Wilson, Founder + Steward of Stone Wave Yoga.
Greetings,
After much reflection and many hours of quiet contemplation, I’ve found peace in a decision that is both tender and true: it’s time for me to say farewell. After nine years, Stone Wave will close its doors on Sunday, June 14th so that I can focus on my family and my health.
In recent months, you’ve witnessed a great deal unfold. I had hoped to move our community to a new home, and when that fell through, I was overwhelmed by the generosity of the local community members who offered their spaces. During this same time, I watched my parents’ health decline more rapidly, and I realized it was simply time for me to step back.
What I also realized is this: you can close a studio, but you can’t close a community. What we’ve built together lives far beyond four walls.
My hope and prayer is that, in the right time and with the right energy, after our Summer program at Full Circle concludes in September—another space will emerge—a place where people can practice together, grow stronger together, breathe together, and continue nurturing what we’ve created.
Many years ago, while still maintaining my primary residence in Manhattan, I had a vision for this area: to build a wellness community. In my wildest imagination, I could never have foreseen what it would become. Over the past nine years, this space has welcomed nearly 8,000 visitors and students. We have graduated more than 200 teachers through our yoga teacher training programs. We have awarded nearly $30,000 in scholarships and never have turned away anyone for a lack of funds.
For many years, through our nonprofit, Sunflower Art Studios (which quietly and officially closed last year), we offered after-school art programs for children and creative summer programs. We have also hosted hundreds of travelers through our Harmony Inn Airbnb, many of whom return again and again to enjoy the peace of this building.
As I say goodbye, I am filled with love and gratitude. We opened our doors nine years ago on June 3—a date that holds deep meaning for me. On June 3, 2012, my only sister, Esther, died in a tragic accident. Five years later, I chose that same day to open Stone Wave in honor of her life and as a reminder to live each moment fully, to be brave and courageous, and have no regrets. Today, I choose that same day to celebrate 9 years of an amazing journey.
When I was a little girl, my mother didn’t ask us what we wanted to be when we grew up; she asked how we wanted to impact the world.
What a beautiful question.
I thought carefully and then said, “Mommy, if I can make a difference in just one person’s life, then my life will be fulfilled.”
Looking back now, I see countless lives touched and changed—yours and mine.
There have been hardships: staying open through the pandemic, enduring personal losses, and facing closed doors I had hoped would open. Yet for every disappointment, there were a hundred blessings that carried me forward. I can almost hear my sister’s whisper even now, encouraging me to choose life—to be present with my parents in their elder years, to focus on what is most needed, and to trust. Trust and faith carried me through nine years of ups and downs, and my commitment to Christ continues to guide me.
I cannot personally carry Stone Wave forward right now. But I believe wholeheartedly that someday a new version—a fresh “Stone Wave” in spirit—will rise. Someone with a big heart and a deep love for people will take up the work of not only building a community, but sustaining one.
If you feel sadness or disappointment reading this, that is natural. Please remember: you cannot split apart a community. You simply find new ways to remain committed and connected.
Thank you for every bit of beauty you have brought into this space, for the love you have shared, and for the memories we have created together. When I close these doors, I will carry those memories with me always. You have changed my life forever, and I am deeply, profoundly grateful.
With much love,
Liz Glover Wilson
