Course Vision

This course is designed to be a journey that empowers you to evolve your consciousness and transform your life through the practice of meditation.

How will it work?

The group will meet weekly for 15 weeks and there will be readings, reflections, and daily practice between classes.

We will explore the practice of meditation from a Yogic perspective with the intention of creating and expanding a deep and rooted sense of inner peace that influences the way we engage with the world, our emotions, and our thoughts.

With the foundation of personal practice, we will layer teachings of Chinese Medical and Ayurvedic philosophy in order to provide a vocabulary for healing.

Who should take this class?

The class is open to adults and mature teens looking to strengthen their meditation practice and evolve their consciousness. Beginners are most welcome!

How much does it cost?

$180 for 15 weeks - paid in full before the course begins

About The Facilitators

Summer Corrie is a passionate advocate and educator of essential oils, in particular the high quality Young Living essential oils. After over a decade as a massage therapist, she has been witness to the many ways this remarkable body heals, and knows firsthand how these oils support the body in doing so. Summer is also a Nia (combination of dance, martial & healing arts) teacher, as well as a yoga teacher, singer and actor. When looking at all of these pieces, she sees the breadcrumbs on the path that led her to get into her body; to live in there, wiggle around in there and take ownership in there. It's become her joy to support you in doing the same!

As a natural lifestyle and optimal well-being strategist, Hanna Trocme Weare brings along on the journey her love of all things transformative, soul-filled and play-full. After being way too serious for way too long, Hanna finds heart-felt joy and satisfaction in sharing practical, easy tools, such as pure essential oils, for connecting to presence, passion, purpose and community. She delights in partnering with nature to shift and uplift our common humanity.

In her professional work as a touch therapist and Nia movement teacher, Hanna relies on the experience and promise of Young Living Essential Oils and all of their oil-infused health products to help mobilize her clients’ and students’ self-healing abilities. In her personal life Hanna depends on the oils to keep herself and her family healthy and happy!

Handstands, walking on one’s hands, and inversion in general are fun skills, but generally, and unnecessarily, limited to gymnasts and the “elite” athlete.

The legitimate concern of falling over backwards is what thwarts most people from mastering handstands.  This nagging apprehension, lurking at the periphery of the psyche prevents one from fully committing to the movement.  Happily, a few simple principles can ensure falling safely, even gracefully.  This 3-hour course has 3 main objectives:

  • Imbue participants with confidence in the skill of falling over safely
  • Teach handstand progression drills for independent practice
  • General pointers and principles for effective hand-balancing.

Although lack of strength is rarely a limiting factor, shoulder and wrist flexibility certainly can be.  While flexibility deficits cannot be immediately remedied, we will discus specific muscles that limit range of motion, and stretches to target those muscles.  And, as time allows, we will explore press handstands, handstands on objects, single-arm handstands against a wall and, of course, handstand walking.

This class involves a bit of lecture, a lot of experiential exercises, partnered work and practice.  By the end of class, you may not have mastered hand-balancing, but you will have mastered falling!  You will also have multiple progressions that, if practiced, will move you steadily toward the point of mastery.  In addition, expect a decent workout, and a lot of fun!

"Mindful Movement with Maximum Burn"

HOT HIIT Teacher Training @ Stone Wave

While HOT HIIT classes are typically held in hot rooms,

we will be training our teachers (and subsequently teaching)

in a warm room of 75-80 degrees starting this spring 2018.

SPRING 2018 HIIT Teacher Training:

Friday, May 18th (8:30am - 5:30pm)
Saturday, May 19th (8:30am - 5:30pm)
Sunday, May 20th (9:00am - 6:00pm)

What is HOT HIIT?

HOT HIIT is a training system that combines High
Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), muscle toning, and
cardio in a room gently heated or heated to approximately 100 degrees.
This practice burns fat and creates long, lean muscle
mass with rapid results. It strengthens your core,
improves cirulation, and increases flexibility.

HOT HIIT is performed on a yoga mat. All movements
are low impact, which protects your joints and
muscles from the pounding of other exercises like
running and jumping.
It is paired with upbeat music, making it a full body,
beat-based workout. Through consistent practice, you
will gain health, flexibility, and increased
neuromuscular control. It will also lead to good
posture and strength throughout your body.

About The Instructor

Yoga Therapist, Cheryl Kiviat, C-IAYT says that she doesn't teach classes, she teaches individuals a personal practice, a handful of students at a time. Her students have been refining their practice with her for over 20 years.

Cheryl believes most in working to achieve "a sound mind, in a sound body". With this in mind, coupled with her training in Preventive and Rehabilitative Therapies, she created her brand, Yoga Dynamics, a body-mind-spirit wellness practice designed to the individual.

Besides her small group classes she teaches both private and semi private sessions.

Cheryl is an avid hiker and teaches full time in the mountains of Ringwood NJ where she lives with her husband David, when they are not in Gardiner. She has had the honor of attending women in labor and delivery as a doula. Her biggest pride and joy are her children, Trevor and Raina.
